Alpha Grus, Al Na'ir (22h05m.1 -47°12') has a magnitude of 1.7 and is a class B5 star about 65 light years distant. The star is an optical double with a 12.5 magnitude companion.

Beta Grus (22h39m.7 -47°09') has a magnitude of 2.2 and is a red class M3 star about 280 light years distant.

Gamma Grus (21h50m.9 -37°36') is a magnitude of 3.0 and is a class B8 star. It is about 540 light years distant.
